Welcome to OhioHealth Colon and Rectal Surgeons

OhioHealth Colon and Rectal Surgeons (formerly known as Central Ohio Colon and Rectal Center, Inc.) has well established roots in the central Ohio community as the oldest colorectal surgery practice.  Originally founded by Dr. Ralph Samson and Dr. William Stewart in April of 1969, the practice added Dr. Pedro Aguilar current President of COCRC in 1981.

The founding physicians soon retired, but Dr. Bruce Kerner joined the practice in 1990. Dr. Aguilar continues to practice and also is the director of OhioHealth Grant Medical Center Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency program. Dr. Kerner, along with Dr. Aguilar, serve on numerous hospital and surgical center committees and participate in residency activities, including training and seminars. Dr. Peter Lee, who joined COCRC in 2009, is quickly settling in the Northwest Columbus area and his practice is growing quickly. Our newest colon and rectal surgeon, Dr. Melinda Jack, started practicing with COCRC in 2010 and has been a great asset as the only female colon and rectal surgeon in the area.
