Bruce A. Kerner, MD, FACS, FASCRS

Dr. Kerner joined Central Ohio Colon and Rectal Center, Inc. in 1990. He has also served in positions of leadership, including by not limited to (President, Chairman, Assistant Director) of the Medical Staff at Mount Carmel East Hospital, Taylor Station Surgical Center, Grant Medical Center Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery, Mount Carmel East Department of Surgery and Grant Medical Center Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency Program.  His memberships include numerous medical associations, surgical societies, and research organizations promoting colon and rectal health.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kerner has been a distinguished surgeon winning many awards and honors as a colon and rectal surgeon.  He has been honored as a Top Doctor by Columbus Monthly since 2005 and was recently named as a Lifetime Member of the Who's Who in Medicine. Dr. Kerner has presented and published numerous research articles in the area of colon and rectal surgery, including serving as an associate editor for Diseases of the Colon and Rectum.  

Dr. Kerner received his MD from the University of Health Sciences at The Chicago Medical School in Illinois.  He did his surgical internship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in New York, New York and completed his surgical residency at North Shore University Hospital at Cornell University Medical College in Manhasset, New York, where he was also the Chief Surgical Resident.  Dr. Kerner pursued his colon and rectal surgical residency at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. 

He currently serves patients at Grant Medical Center and Grove City Health Center.

Dr. Kerner lives in the east Columbus area with his wife, enjoys spending time with his two grown children, traveling, and playing golf.
