Pedro S. Aguilar, MD, FACS, FASCRS


Dr. Pedro Aguilar joined OhioHealth Colon and Rectal Surgeons (formerly Central Ohio Colon and Rectal Center, Inc.) in 1981.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the School of Medicine at the University of Yucatan in Mexico and moved to the United States to pursue surgical residencies at St. Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey and University of West Virginia, Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, West Virginia, where he was also the Chief Surgical Resident.  The Grant Medical Center Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship residency brought Dr. Aguilar to Columbus where he has remained to practice. Dr. Aguilar has served as the Program Director, Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship since 1991.  
 

In addition to his directorship duties, Dr. Aguilar serves on numerous hospital and medical committees, teaches family practice residents, and publishes or presents research in the area of colon and rectal surgery on a regular basis.  Dr. Aguilar, as a board certified surgeon, maintains his status as a fellow with the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.  He is also a member of various medical associations and societies, including several in Mexico. 

Dr. Aguilar currently serves patients at Grant Medical Center and Pickerington Medical Campus.

He lives in the north Columbus area with his wife and enjoys spending time with his two grown children, traveling, and serving as a physician on medical mission teams.  He is also enjoying being a grandfather.
